How uncomfortable are you?

Are you putting up with quality issues and late deliveries rather than moving supplier?

We understand why companies choose to stay with their supplier even when their situation is uncomfortable. However, failed boards, rework, missed deliveries … are all additional costs, and time spent resolving issues can be considerable.

Mowden can help you off the spike and will work with you to move seamlessly through the process of changing supplier, so you are in a much more comfortable position!

Don’t sit on that spike any longer!

New Automated Handling System

How our latest technology addition can directly benefit your products

At Mowden, we want to keep pushing forward to ensure we continue to offer you the ideal blend of competitive pricing, reduced lead-times and increased flexibility on small to even larger production runs.

That is why we have implemented our new Inline Conveyor System,  as well as further enhancing our SMT assembly equipment.  This includes our MyData 200 Series Pick & Place machine, with the ability to deliver high-speed placement of up to 16,000 components an hour from 0.4×0.2mm to 56x56x15mm (the size of a Dust Mite to a traditional Teabag!).

Reduced handling and changeover time

The new automated system now significantly reduces the manual handling of the PCBs from the beginning to the end of the surface mount process.

Changeover time from one PCB batch to the next is much faster, as we no longer have to hand-place PCBs into the placement machines. Not only does this lower the labour rates of your job and time spent in the system, it also reduces the risks of ESD damage and faults due to over-handling.

No compromise on quality

For us therefore, competitive pricing and shorter lead times doesn’t have to mean sacrificing quality.   Our new system enables us to offer both, without risking the functionality of your products.

New Quality Manager’s Vision

As part of the Board of Directors’ strategic long term business development plan, I have been primarily employed to achieve certification to the AS9100 standard. My role is to review and enhance Mowden’s Health & Safety and environmental management systems in order to conform to the existing OHSAS18001 and ISO 14001 standards respectively.

Currently certified to ISO9001:2008 and IECEx OD005-1 (ISO80079-34), quality has been Mowden’s primary core value for over 25-years. Quality is the foundation of our company’s operating philosophy which we plan to build on over the coming years.

Throughout my career, I can honestly say that working for Mowden Controls Ltd is a unique experience. What has certainly impressed me over the past 7-months is everyone’s knowledge, commitment to quality and exemplary standard of work. The dedication and pride shown by each and every member of the workforce is commendable.  I don’t have to try to get a buy-in from the workforce, they are already in! The team is never reserved in looking at and recommending where they feel we can improve.

All that is left for me to say is that exciting times lie ahead for us all, and with everyone’s continued support, co-operation and participation, together we can achieve anything.

Darren McNiff, Quality & Compliance Manager.
