2005 - Mowden moves into a new purpose built unit giving the company extra capacity and space for future growth.
2002 - Mowden implements cellular manufacturing and a new MRP system.
2001 - After a very successful TCS (Teaching Company Scheme) backed by government funding and in partnership with Leeds Metropolitan University. Jill Beckett is appointed Sales & Marketing Manager.
1997 - Mowden expands the scope of it's quality system to cover it's design activities attaining certification to ISO9001.
1997 - As the company passes the £1m turnover mark for the first time. Stephen Williams takes over as Managing Director supported by management team, Neil Maclean Technical Director and Judith Smith Production Director. The company also gains an EECS manufacturing licence (Now ATEX Quality Notification) to produce intrinsically safe equipment.
1994 - The company achieves ISO9002. Delivering a quality product and service is one of the guiding philosophies of Mowden Controls.
1993 - Stephen Williams, son of company founder Lewis, joins the business.
1980 - Mowden counteracts the decline of the textile industry in the UK by branching out into other markets. This continuing strategy has left the company in a strong position, when others have suffered, such as in the recent telecommunications industry collapse.
1975 - The beginning of a long customer partnership with ICI dealing with their physics and radioisotopes instrumentation division.
1970 - The company moves to it's present headquarters in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
1965 - Mowden Controls Ltd is formed by entrepreneur, Lewis Williams and engineer, Vince Ellington. Created initially to manufacture products of their own design the company soon began offering electronic subcontract services to other companies.
